Library Minutes

                          Hancock Library Trustees Minutes
                                      March 26, 2014


Present: Laurie Bryan, Mary Garland, Amy Markus, Suzanne Shevenell, Eric Spitzbarth

Meeting called to order at 1:05 pm.
The February 26, 2014 minutes were reviewed, and unanimously approved as written upon a motion by Bryan, which was seconded by Shevenell.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and accepted upon a motion by Byran, which was seconded by Garland.

Trustee Officer Positions for 2014 are: Bryan, President, Garland, Treasurer, and Shevenell, Secretary

Director Markus stated that it was her understanding that the annual appeal for the Friends of Library was being prepared and that appeal letters would be mailed in late April or early May.
Markus summarized efforts to date in incorporating the Library’s pending purchase of the Apollo ILS system.  She feels that the conversion to this new system will be underway by late April, 2014. New book and DVD arrivals, as well as upcoming events, and access to the digital library are in place now on the Library’s web site.

The Trustees and Selectman Spitzbarth reviewed the programs currently scheduled during the month of April for families, adults, and children.  Markus made indicated that the children’s programs have been well attended during the winter months.  Markus welcomes trustee input into program suggestions for the upcoming months.

Discussion followed as to the overall condition of the library building, with note made to the repairs that will be made shortly to the closet area in the Daniels Room.

The next meeting will be on April 30, 2014, at which time a summary of the Library’s current policies will be discussed.
Bryan expressed the trustees thanks to Selectman Spitzbarth for the Select Board’s support of the Library at the Town Meeting in March.

Byran made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Shevenell, and meeting was adjourned at 2:00pm.
