Upcoming events at the Library...

Tuesday February 13th at 7:00 pm
The Friends of the Hancock Town Library will have their regularly scheduled meeting. All are welcome!

Thursday February 15th at 7:00-8:00 pm
Family Game Night! Bring your favorite games and we'll play. Break up your routine and come to the library for something different. Lots of fun and snacks, too!

Friday February 16th at 7:00 pm
The Third Friday Film Series will be showing the movie Duma. It's the story of 12-year-old Xan who decides to return the cheetah he raised from a cub to the wild instead of allowing pursuers to place it in captivity. Beautifully photographed in Africa, this is a great family film. Rated PG and runs 100 minutes.
Downloadable Audio Books Come to the Hancock Town Library!

Great news for audio book lovers! Beginning February 12th at 9:00 am, patrons of the Hancock Town Library will be able to download audio books to their computers and MP3 players free of charge. Thanks to a Gates grant and the NH State Library, the Hancock Town Library now has access to hundreds of books (both new and classics) online. Some publishers even allow books to be burned to a CD. Before you check out any audio books online, you will need to get a special four digit code from us at the front desk. Then go to http://nh.lib.overdrive.com, install the free software, check out audio books and then download them. The site is very user friendly, but if you have questions, feel free to ask me. We will be holding training sessions on how to navigate the site beginning Wednesday February 21 from 4 - 6 pm, but you needn't wait for that. My guess is that you can all use the site right away. Have fun!
